Attacks on Kelowna Thai Fusion restaurant stun owner
Luke Sumpantarat wants vandals to stops smashing his restaurant windows
A West Kelowna restaurant is re-opening today after yet another vandalism attack where someone smashed several windows with a baseball bat.
It's the fourth time this year that Thai Fusion in West Kelowna has been sabotaged in this way, and owner Luke Sumpantarat says he has no idea who is targeting his business.
"Who? Why? That's my first two questions," said Sumpantarat. "It's so obvious that it's on purpose. Like this is my game plan — that's what I am going to do tonight."
Surveillance video from the latest attack two weeks ago shows a man in a brown jacket and ski-mask smashing out the windows at his restaurant with a baseball bat.
Sumpantarat has watched the video over and over trying to discern the man`s identity. He said he's worried about his nine staff members.
"I really like the crew we have right now and the last thing I want to do is have to replace them because I keep having to close and they can't afford to stay with me right now."
His hope is that somebody recognizes the culprit and the violent attacks are stopped.
