A bobcat has been surprising residents of Kettle Valley Village, south of Kelowna, B.C.

Dave Krysko was sitting in his living room after dinner when something caught his eye.

"I noticed something outside my window," said Krysko. "And there's this cat looking into our window. And it's not a regular cat, this is like a giant cat."

The bobcat, about as big as a medium-sized dog, was walking back and forth and peering into his living room.

Krysko said he's seen other wildlife on his property such as osprey, quail, and even a weasel. But this is the first time he's seen a bobcat.

The village has warned residents to vigilant after one person reported the bobcat had attempted to drag a house cat into the woods. The owner intervened, and chased off the bobcat.

"Please keep an eye on children and pets, and be sure that you don't leave garbage or food out," said a statement on the village facebook page.
