Jamie Bacon trial hears from woman who heard shots
She is first of the civilian witnesses who will testify in the case
Tami Bullock says she was in her Mission home on New Year's Eve 2008 when she heard four to five bangs and then, after a pause, more of the same.
Bullock says she got up and looked out her kitchen window to see the taillights of a car speeding away from her cul-de-sac.
She called 911.
Ten years later, Bullock is on the stand as a witness at the trial of Jamie Bacon who is charged with counselling associates to murder Dennis Karbovenec, his partner in the drug trade.
The prosecution says two men, who are now co-operating with the Crown, will testify Karbovenec was lured to the cul-de-sac because Bacon wanted him killed.
Bullock said she heard a total of seven to eight gunshots. She also testified about another incident a few weeks later that made her call police again.
Bullets and casings found
A neighbour came to her door and said, 'I have something for you' and dropped casings and bullets into my hand," she said.
Crown prosecutor Joe Bellows previously said the neighbour's toddler had found the objects while walking on a trail near the cul-de-sac.
"I put them on the counter and waited for police to pick them up," Bullock testified.
