A police investigation into gunfire that struck three homes in the Clayton area of Surrey B.C. has netted a cache of weapons, explosives and materials for drug production, according to RCMP.

On Saturday, police received a report of gunfire damage to a home in the 6800 block of 196 Street. That damage occurred on Friday.

Officers found gunfire damage to three residences. There were no injuries.

Now, as part of that investigation, police found the weapons, explosives and drug production materials.

"Preliminary examination by investigators has determined the scene is not a risk to the public and police will be taking every precaution to ensure public safety," said Surrey RCMP in a release.

Homes to be 'examined'

Surrey's RCMP General Investigations Unit along with its drug unit and the B.C. RCMP explosives disposal unit are involved in the case.

"Investigators will remain on scene until the area is made safe," said Cpl. Scotty Schumann in the release.

Schumann says officers will be canvassing the neighbourhood in the hopes of locating potential witnesses. He said no suspects have been identified.
