The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team and RCMP are looking into the suspicious death of a person who was found inside a burned SUV in Surrey. B.C.
Around 12:20 a.m. PT on Wednesday morning, police responded to reports of a vehicle on fire at the 18700 block of 24th Avenue.
When they arrived, a body was found inside the SUV.
Cpl. Meghan Foster, IHIT's media relations officer, said the team can confirm the individual was a victim of homicide, She said they have not been able to identify the victim or determine whether the homicide was a random event or a targeted act of violence.
Officers closed off 24th and 25th Avenue between 184th and 188th streets to investigate.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police.
