Detectives from Abbotsford police and the Integrated Homicide Investigative Team are investigating the death of a 32-year-old man.

Cpl. Frank Jang with IHIT says the victim is Sukhpreet Grewal. He said Grewal was known to police and his death is considered a targeted killing.

"Somebody killed Mr. Grewal. We're going to find out who did it," Jang said.

He said Grewal's family filed a missing persons report with Abbotsford police on Friday afternoon. When officers arrived at his residence in the 3100-block of Consort Court, they found Grewal dead inside.

Jang said forensic teams will be working overnight and into Saturday morning to gather evidence from the home.

"We're going to be here for a while. It's an indoor crime scene. It can be complicated at times because all the evidence is there. It's encased in that home," he said.

He said no other occupants were inside when officers arrived.

Anyone with information on Grewal's whereabouts or actions leading up to his death are asked to contact IHIT at 1-877-551- IHIT (4448), or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. People who want to remain anonymous, can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
