Homicide team investigating death in Hope, B.C.

B.C.'s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says it's looking into the death of a 46-year-old Chilliwack man in Hope on Friday.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says it has been deployed to probe the death of a 46-year-old man whose body was found in Hope, B.C., on Friday.

In a news release on Sunday, IHIT said RCMP were called to the 900-block of Old Hope Princeton Way in Hope, about 120 kilometres east of Vancouver, where officers found the man's body.

In the release, Sgt. Timothy Pierotti said the man's death appeared to be the result of a homicide and IHIT was summoned. 

Police said the man was from nearby Chilliwack, B.C., but are not releasing his name until his family has been notified.
