Surrey RCMP are investigating, after more gun violence sent two men to hospital on Saturday night.

Police said the shooting happened between two vehicles — a white or light-coloured sports utility vehicle (SUV) and a silver Pontiac Vibe — in the 18600 block of Highway 10 in Surrey, B.C.

Several people reported hearing shots fired in the area, just after 10 p.m. PT. Police responded and found evidence that shooting had occurred, including bullet damage on two houses.

Surrey RCMP said they were alerted by a regional hospital that two victims had turned up with non-life-threatening gunshot injuries. The hospital was subsequently locked down as a safety precaution.

Police believe the attack was targeted, but couldn't say whether it was connected to the drug turf war that has recently been blamed for many shootings in the city.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-915-6566, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
