Gastown businesses reach out, as good neighbours should

Individuals can step up and make a difference, and so can businesses—as Citizen Shane finds out in Gastown.

It may be one of Vancouver's hippest neighbourhoods, but it's also on the doorstep of the city's most troubled community.

Employees at Mindfield, a high-tech recruitment company that moved in about eight months ago, spend time every month volunteering across the street at the Salvation Army shelter.
