Vancouver police Const. Brian Montague says the woman was rushed to hospital, but died of her injuries.

Montague says the driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with police.

The VPD Collision Investigation Unit was on scene last night speaking with witnesses and canvassing the area for video to assist in determining the cause of the accident.

Montague says it's the 11th death involving a motor vehicle collision in Vancouver this year.

Four of the fatalities have involved pedestrians.
