The family of a missing senior presented a tearful appeal today, asking the public for assistance in finding 88-year-old Jarnail Sanghera of Delta, B.C.

Sanghera has been missing since leaving his family residence near Nordel Way and 116th Street on Friday, May 15.

Video shows him walking eastbound near 118th Street and 88th Avenue in Delta around 11:30 a.m. that same day.

Sanghera has diabetes that requires medication, and also lives with dementia.

Family members, though, described a vibrant patriarch, and a fixture of his community.

"He's very humorous, he's very kind," said grandson Rajpal Fagurh. "Always wants to hug you, just to talk to you and be around you."

He was dressed in a sky blue turban, dark grey zip-up jacket, plaid shirt and dark grey jogging pants when he went missing.

Delta Police are concerned that the senior has been missing so long, but say foul play is not suspected.

Surrey and North Delta residents are asked to check their properties, including outbuildings, vehicles and alleyways for the senior.
