An evacuation order has been lifted in a Vancouver suburb where police found explosives inside a home.

The RCMP Federal Drug Enforcement Branch was searching a home at 8440 Odlin Cres. in Richmond, B.C., when police officers found the explosives, according to an RCMP press release. Ten nearby homes were evacuated.

There were no people in the home when officers arrived, but a marijuana grow operation was found inside.

The search warrant was obtained in relation to a synthetic drug lab found at 21880 River Road on Friday, the release said.

The five people arrested in relation to the Friday drug lab raid have all been charged with various drug offences and they all remain in custody. All five are scheduled to appear in court on June 26.

The five Richmond residents charged are:

  • Richard Suzick, 28.
  • Miranda Suzick, 29.
  • Robert Rahn, 34.
  • Sylvete Rahn, 33.
  • John Rahberger, 44.

Corrections

  • The surname of Richard Suzick and Miranda Suzick was spelled incorrectly in the original version of this story. Police had issued a statement in which their surnames were spelled Susik.
