The emergency operations centre for the Okanagan Indian Band has issued an evacuation order for five beachfront lots along Jack Road west of Vernon, B.C.

The order comes after several others were issued on Thursday for homes in the Slocan Valley and south of Vernon. Okanagan Lake continues to swell from snow melt and storms.

On Friday, Kelowna Mayor Colin Basran posted a video on YouTube asking boaters to be careful on Okanagan Lake.

There is also a high streamflow advisory for the Fraser River.
