Three teens are facing aggravated assault charges, victim remains in critical condition after stabbing
Three teens are facing charges of aggravated assault in relation to a stabbing that has left another 18-year-old man in critical condition.
All three were arrested fleeing the crime scene near Burnsviews Secondary School in Delta Saturday night. They remain in custody and are young offenders who cannot be identified.
Delta police were called just after 11 p.m. PT and arrived to find a young man with "significant stab wounds" being treated by emergency workers, said Delta Sgt. Ciaran Feenan.
Feenan said the stabbing happened in an open area near a park, schools and common dog walking places, close to Burnsview Secondary School in the 7600 block of 112th St.
Police say the incident appears to be a fight between teenagers that escalated to an extreme level.
Although the stabbing took place on school property, police say they are confident there is no connection between the fight and the school.
