A bizarre two-vehicle crash in Surrey, B.C. ends with vehicles ploughing into two homes sending six people to hospital, and a fridge across a kitchen.

Police say after the driver got out of one vehicle, it rolled across the street, struck a pole, which jarred the trasmission into drive and sent it crashing into a house with no driver at the wheel.

"It was just pure shock," said Sally Vieira, an upstairs resident in one of the houses hit, who was awakened by the crash. "We just woke up with a loud jolt, smashing glass and a horn honking. I looked outside and there was a car in the house!"

At around 6 a.m. PT, Sunday, Vieira was asleep with her family in the home.

"The house shook and it was just pure panic. Like, what happened?"

The collision at 152 St. and 92 Ave. involved a black SUV and a family headed to church in a white sedan car.

Satya Nadan also had a rude awakening Sunday morning.

"We just woke up with a loud bang," said Nadan, whose four family members were fast asleep in a one of the homes.

"Couldn't believe it. The fence is down and the car is in the house."

Nadan didn't see the driver. He said the person was gone.
