Join CBC News Vancouver's Miyoung Lee at the opening gala on July 9th at the Roundhouse Community Centre. Miyoung will kick off 10 days of performances, talks, exhibitions, workshops, screenings, tastings and discussions at venues across the city. 
Now in its fifth year, the festival features an eclectic line-up including award-winning novelists and DJs, social entrepreneurs, a Hollywood set designer, a Nobel Prize-winning scientist, and one of India's most renowned musical maestros.

Festival highlights include:

  • Opening Gala: Vikram Vij challenges some of Vancouver's top chefs to create Indian-inspired street food.
  • Amjad Ali Khan & Sons: In this rare Vancouver performance, Khan and his two sons will perform a special collaboration with local musicians for an unforgettable night.
  • Genes & Jazz: Part jazz concert, part illustrated talk by one of the world's finest scientific minds; Genes & Jazz is where the seemingly dichotomous worlds of science and the arts meet.
  • 5 X 15: Five speakers, speaking for fifteen minutes each, on any topic they are truly passionate about. 
  • Taj Mahal Foxtrot: Experience a lively evening with classic Bollywood songs from the '50s and '60s, rare archival photographs and videos from when jazz came to India.
  • Dinner by Starlight: The festival's culminating and signature dinner.
