15-year-old in custody after Commercial Drive stabbing

A man in his 20's is recovering in hospital after being stabbed Tuesday night.

Citizen detained suspect until police arrived, bystanders provided first aid to victim

A 15-year-old suspect is in custody after a stabbing Tuesday night. 

A man in his 20's is recovering in hospital. 

Vancouver Police say a fight broke out on a bus around 9:00 p.m. and then spilled out onto Commercial Drive near the intersection of Venables Street.

The victim was slashed before a passerby intervened and detained the alleged suspect. Additional witnesses provided first aid and called for police and paramedics.

Const. Jason Doucette said the victim sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
