CBC Vancouver's 32nd annual Open House and Food Bank Day took place on Friday and raised a record-breaking amount of money for those in need.

The CBC Vancouver broadcast centre was open to the public for a day of fundraising to support the thousands of British Columbians who rely on food banks.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we raised $823,191 — more than any other Food Bank Day in the history of the event.

The final tally surpasses last year's fundraising record of $802,049 and is a far cry from the $462 raised in the first year.
