A Langley, B.C., councillor is upset with Canada Post's decision

Canada Post's decision to phase out mail delivery in urban centres means in five years, Canadians will be retrieving their mail from "super boxes" — dozens of locked mailboxes consolidated into one location.

But, a CBC Freedom of Information request found security is a problem in super boxes.

From 2008 until now, there have been almost 5,000 incidents of theft, pried or opened mailboxes.

The issue is so prevalent in Langley, B.C., that city council passed a motion this year to look into the growing problem.
