B.C. Bike to Work week celebrates the two-wheel commute
More than 50 B.C. communities are taking part
Thousands of people across B.C. are travelling to and from work on two wheels this week.
Bike to Work Week began today with the goal of getting more people out of their cars and onto their bikes.
More than 50 B.C. communities, including Kamloops, 100 Mile House, Williams Lake, the Shuswap and Merritt, are taking part.
Prizes and free coffee were offered at a celebration station at Prince Charles and Riverside parks in Kamloops this morning and at Mount Pleasant Park in Vancouver.

In previous years, tens of thousands of British Columbians, including many first-time commuters, have participated.
The average trip length per participant was six to 10 kilometres.
