BC Ferries cuts prices on off-peak vehicle fares in latest promotion
Standard vehicle fares, including motorcycles, will be discounted by 50 per cent on most routes
BC Ferries is slashing their prices again in another promotion — this time, on off-peak vehicle fares.
Standard vehicle fares, including motorcycles, will be discounted by 50 per cent on most routes during specific dates and hours. However, drivers and passengers will be regular price and vehicles must be within 20 feet in length.
For south coast sailings, the promotion runs from November 16 to December 19, Monday to Thursdays as well as Saturdays. However, the reduced rates will only apply to specific sailings during those dates.
For north coast sailings, drivers can expect discounts on vehicle rates from November 15 to December 20 every day of the week on designated routes.
The company said in a statement, the discounts are an attempt to, "gauge our customers' response to the concept of saving while travelling on off-peak sailings."
BC Ferries is looking to launch a more flexible fare system in 2017 that would offer savings based on when passengers choose to travel.
This promotion is the second time the ferry company has offered major discounts this year.
In September and October, passenger rates were slashed during off-peak hours. BC Ferries says it helped increase traffic volumes while reducing congestion at the terminals by encouraging off-peak travel.
