People planning to travel Monday on BC Ferries between Tsawwassen and Duke Point are advised to check the schedule and the status of their reservation after six sailings were cancelled due to mechanical issues with the Queen of Alberni.

BC Ferries spokesperson Debrorah Marshall says the vessel will be out of commission for the entire day forcing the cancellation of the 5:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. PT sailings out of Tsawwassen on the Mainland, and the 7:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m., and 5:45 p.m. PT sailings from Duke Point on Vancouver Island.

Marshall says repairs will take the whole day but that the schedule should return to normal Tuesday.

"We do expect that vessel to go back into service tomorrow, that's what engineering is telling us," said Marshall.
