Baby left in car in casino parking lot: police
A Surrey mother has been charged with child abandonment after she allegedly left her four-month-old boy in the backseat of an SUV at a downtown Vancouver casino Sunday.
A Surrey mother has been charged with child abandonment after she allegedly left her four-month-old boy in the backseat of an SUV at a downtown Vancouver casino Sunday.
A person walking through the parking lot at the Edgewater Casino on Pacific Boulevard heard crying from the vehicle and investigated before calling authorities, police said.
The 29-year-old mother returned to the vehicle after police had arrived.
The infant was taken into the custody of the B.C. Ministry of Children and Family Development
The mother cannot be named in order to protect the identity of the child.
The woman is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 4.
