An Alberta man has died in an avalanche while snowmobiling in eastern B.C.

Eight snowmobilers were on Eagle Mountain near Revelstoke when the slide occurred Sunday afternoon, burying the 42-year-old man from Hussar, Alta., RCMP said in a news release Monday.
Police said the victim's friends were able to determine where he'd been buried, but he had died by the time they dug him out.
The man's name has not been released.
The RCMP and the B.C. Coroner's Service are investigating.
Revelstoke is about 400 kilometres west of Calgary.
Another Alberta man died in an avalanche while skiing near Rossland, in southeast B.C., in early January.
