Police in Vancouver are trying to track down a man and a woman who were seen outside a heritage house before it burned down in the early morning hours of Aug. 2.

Police say the fire, which is being treated as suspicious, caused approximately $1.2 million worth of property damage.

The fire destroyed the vacant house at the end of the 1000 block of Keefer Street, and also caused serious damage to the house next door. A third, occupied home was also damaged, sending the tenants fleeing into the street just before 4 a.m PT.

Police say the couple seen on the block before the flames took over "may have specific details about the fire that could assist with the police investigation."

No one was injured in the fire.
