Police cancel Amber Alert after boy missing from Vancouver found near Calgary

Police say a three-year-old boy who was the subject of an Amber Alert in B.C. late Monday was found near Calgary on Tuesday morning.

Vancouver police say a three-year-old boy who was the subject of an Amber Alert late Monday was found near Calgary on Tuesday morning.

Police believed the child was taken from B.C. Children's Hospital in Vancouver.

A statement says the three-year-old is now receiving care and his mother has been arrested after they were both found near Calgary.

The Amber Alert was cancelled shortly after 6 a.m. PT. The alert was also broadcast to cellphone users in British Columbia via the Alert Ready system.

In a statement late Monday, police said the boy was receiving treatment for a medical condition at B.C. Children's Hospital and they were concerned for his health and safety.
