The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called after a man's body was found Wednesday morning in Abbotsford.

Patrol officers and detectives with the major crimes unit were first to respond to a rural property in the 35,000-block of Fore Road.

"Based on their initial assessment the cause of death was not apparent," said Constable Ian Macdonald with the Abbotsford Police Department.

"They deemed that the death was suspicious and as a result they connected both with the coroners office, as well as IHIT."

The victim has not been identified.
