A 56-year old man has died from his injuries following a collision with a passenger van in Abbotsford, B.C., Tuesday afternoon.

The Abbotsford Police Department was called to the two-vehicle collision on Fraser Highway near Bradner Road at 2:45 p.m. PT.

Police say the motorcyclist was travelling westbound on the shoulder of the road — and passing traffic on the right — when the crash occurred.

They say the van's 36-year-old female driver and 47-year-old female passenger had been travelling eastbound and made a left turn when on-coming traffic stopped to allow for it.

The motorcyclist was transported to hospital where he died shortly after arrival, say police.

The two women in the van suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Abbotsford police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them.
