Three men have been charged with the first-degree murder of 20-year-old Michael Bonin according to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.
Ryan Watt, 26, Joshua Fleurant, 20, and 27-year-old Jared Jorgenson will be appearing before a provincial court judge today.
Bonin's body was found on a rural forest road north of Hope, B.C., on April 20, 2017.
Cpl. Frank Jang of IHIT says in a statement that Bonin was from Rycroft, Alta.
IHIT says in a release that it can't get into the specifics surrounding evidence or motive because the case is now before the courts but investigators believe the homicide was not random.
Investigators also released a statement from Bonin's mother saying he was a loving, helpful and loyal young man who had lots to live for and she hopes those responsible for taking his life are held accountable.
