2-alarm apartment fire in East Vancouver contained
Vancouver fire crews quickly bring fire under control
A fast response by Vancouver fire crews appears to have resulted in the quick containment of a fire in an apartment building at 120 Garden Dr. in East Vancouver.
The fire was called in around 2:30 p.m. PT and immediately went to a second alarm.
There were were early reports of smoke visible from the second and third floor balconies, but fire crews arriving on scene reported the bulk of the fire was on the roof of the building.

Smoke rising from the building could be seen from as far away as North Vancouver. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
