17-year-old dead after overnight crash in West Vancouver

West Vancouver police are investigating a crash that killed a 17-year-old and injured a 19-year-old.

West Vancouver police are investigating an overnight crash that killed a 17-year-old male from North Vancouver.

Police said the crash happened in the 6300 block of Marine Drive around 4 a.m.

A 19-year-old female passenger was sent to Lions Gate Hospital with unknown injuries.

Police said the investigation is in its early stages, but speed is believed to be a factor.

The road was closed overnight, but re-opened around noon on Saturday.
