A graphic display of the words appearing most frequently in the throne speech

Gov. Gen. Michaëlle Jean delivered the federal government's speech from the throne Wednesday.

The image below shows the 150 most frequently used words from that speech. The more often a word was used, the larger it appears in the image. Common words plus government, Canada (and derivatives) and country do not appear.

The largest word, "continue," appears 27 times in the text of the speech. World (24), support (22) and new (21) follow in the list of most frequent words. The speech contains a total of 5,922 words.

Last year's speech from the throne was only 730 words in length. Economy, crisis and protect were the words appearing most frequently in the text.
