Step inside a restored Elizabethan manor with 30 ft ceilings... and a baby goat!
This Ontario residence may not have a TV or microwave, but it does have a thriving animal farm
While there may not be a TV or microwave in sight, this elegant, Elizabethan-style manor boasts 30 ft ceilings, exquisite antiques, all the original fireplaces and interiors that will actually take your breath away. Oh, and that's just indoors. Most of the excitement is found on the farmlands, where cattle, alpacas, chickens goats, water buffalo and a very special goat named Courage roam free. It's all such a sight that the home, which the Chaplins call a "lifetime project", has been regularly used as a backdrop for movies and TV shows, including CBC's own Frankie Drake Mysteries. The cavernous estate has stood in Cruickston Park — a 966 acre stretch of land just outside of Cambridge, Ont. — since the 1800s, but it wasn't until Jan Chaplin moved in with her family in 1996 that the property was really restored and transformed into a bustling farmhouse.
