They could not have more different personalities, but this Edmonton couple found true love.

Brian McPherson, 44, prides himself on being the guy that says what he wants, does what he wants and is always pushing the envelope. Since acquiring a spinal injury at 19 in an off-roading accident, he's travelled the world as a member of the national bobsledding and sledge hockey teams. He worked as a machinery operator and mechanic until recently, due to a decline in health.

Brian always said he'd never date anyone else who uses a wheelchair. That is, until he met Victoria Berezovich, 39. Now, this foul-mouthed bad boy has discovered his passionate side. "She had me at, 'Hello,'" says Brian. "I'm grateful every day that I get to look at those beautiful eyes."

Known for her delicious cooking and wry sense of humour, Victoria is a powerful ambassador for Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease, an inherited and degenerative condition that she was diagnosed with after multiple surgeries and decades of wrong diagnoses. "Brian came into my life when I was not looking for a relationship at all," says Victoria. "He respects me in a way that I never have had with any relationship with any human being."

It's their first anniversary and the day starts off with a special breakfast before they leave to go out on a surprise adventure that Victoria has planned for Brian. And what a surprise it is! Make sure you watch to the end of video above.
