Everything you need to know about Season 2 of CBC's police drama Allegiance
Take a first look at Sabrina’s new job, new partner and the crimes that draw in everyone she loves
Allegiance, a riveting police drama set in Surrey, B.C., is back for Season 2 with all new episodes.
When we first met the lead character Sabrina Sohal in Season 1, she was delivering a graduation speech at her police academy when her politician father, Ajeet, was arrested for treason.
That rocky start didn't keep Sabrina from becoming the star rookie in her Surrey police division, even while she had to fight behind the scenes to get her father exonerated.
She's a strong, independent Sikh Punjabi woman who's experienced racism firsthand, she's determined to make a difference in the community she works in. "The interesting thing about where Sabrina sits is that she's seen a world a little bit from both sides, and she carries that perspective into the job," says actor Supinder Wraich, who plays Sabrina in the show, in an interview with CBC.
What's new for Sabrina in Season 2 of Allegiance?
Sabrina's stellar work in her first year on the force has earned her a promotion to the Serious Crimes Unit of the CFPC (Canadian Federal Police Corps) where she has six months to prove she's got what it takes to be a detective.
We'll see Sabrina tackle the type of tough crimes familiar to all of us who follow the news. From a predatory sports coach to the random beating death of an unhoused man, Sabrina has never been so challenged in her job.

Actor Samer Salem appears as Sabrina's new partner In Season 2
With the new job comes a new partner. Detective Corporal Zak Kalaini (Samer Salem) is macho, probably arrogant and doesn't seem to respect Sabrina's touchy-feely approach to work. Is Sabrina just chafing against his authority or is she dealing with a jerk?
Don't worry, her mentor, veteran beat cop Vince (Enrico Colantoni) is still around (with his own promotion, too!) to offer his support.
Who else appears in the Season 2 of Allegiance?
Supinder Wraich (Sort Of) is Sabrina Sohal
Enrico Colantoni (English Teacher) is officer and mentor, Vince Brambilla
Stephen Lobo (Continuum) is father, Ajeet Sohal
Adolyn H. Dar (Superman & Lois) is brother, Ishaan Sohal
Andes Joesph (The Art of Racing in the Rain) is prosecutor, Nate Brugmann
Samer Salem (The Expanse, The Boys) is new partner, Zak Kalaini
Simmering storylines intensify in Allegiance Season 2
The secret situationship with hunky Nate, the assistant Crown Prosecutor on the case against her dad, was never not going to be complicated. She did, after all, steal files from his laptop while he lay passed out drunk on his sofa. Can they overcome their trust issues and turn their sultry chemistry into something real?
Sabrina is still determined to take down the man who framed her father in Season 1 and now her brother Ishaan is also on the case. But her dad is running for re-election and would probably prefer that she avoid bringing up his unjustified arrest or further implicate the friends and family who helped clear his name.
But Sabrina will not let this go. Things are about to get intense.
