Canada's Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard lost in the round of 16 to Hungary's Hedvig Karakas in women's Olympic judo action Monday in Rio de Janeiro.
The two judokas competing in the under-57 kilogram tournament were tied after the end of regulation time and had to battle in the extended golden score period in order to advance. That's when Beauchemin-Pinard, 22, received a yellow card penalty and lost the match.
Karakas, 26, advanced to the round of eight at the Rio Games.
