If the 1990s New Jersey Devils taught us anything, it's that the Stanley Cup winner isn't always the team with the most fans.
But wouldn't it be fun if it was?
With that in mind, here's how this year's Stanley Cup playoffs might play out if fan interest decided the winner of every series. To determine a team's level of fan interest, we used — what else? — the number of followers to its official Twitter account.
And, yes, we know the NHL re-seeds its playoff teams after every round, so the real-life playoffs don't follow the bracket format we're using here. But for now, let's pretend they do.
