Why Nadia L. Hohn regularly turns to reading the Bible for hope and inspiration

Nadia L. Hohn is a writer, musician and educator based in Toronto. Her picture books include Malaika's Winter Carnival, Malaika's Costume, A Likkle Miss Lou and Harriet Tubman: Freedom Fighter.
She was named one of six Black Canadian writers to watch in 2018, and children's fiction blends standard English and Caribbean patois, telling Black stories from an often underrepresented point of view.
Hohn spoke with The Next Chapter and shared the book that she loves to re-read.
"My go-to book is the Bible. I've been reading it daily and in small chunks, so I've read it beginning to end. I study it as someone who has a Christian faith.
I've been going to different passages and finding some really cool things that resonate with what's going on in the world and my life right now.
