Cover to Cover Bookshelf is a popular independent bookstore based in Winnipeg. The store sells a collection of used books, comics and toys.

Owner Tony Hazzard talked to The Next Chapter about some of the bestselling titles that keep local readers coming back to shelves.

The Bridgerton series by Julia Quinn

"In a pandemic, a lot of people have been reaching for books that are familiar and comforting. 

"Julia Quinn's Bridgerton books are selling like hotcakes, and a good part of it is because of the Netflix series. There are also people who used to read them in the past and now are looking to get back into reading the series."

The Virgin River series by Robyn Carr

"Robin Carr's Virgin River series was popular before it became a TV series — but it's now even more popular because now people know that it's a book. 

"With the books, you get more details, you get more facts and the books develop the characters so much more."
