"Yes, It's a Thing" - The Doorway Effect
Have you ever headed upstairs, walked through the door of your bedroom, and then asked yourself, "Why did I come in here?" You may feel reassured to learn that yes, the so-called "doorway effect", is indeed "a thing."

This week we are launching a new mini-series on The Sunday Edition. We are calling it, "Yes, It's a Thing."
Have you ever found yourself walking into a room and wondering, "Why did I come in here?" It's known as the "doorway effect".
It can be strangely reassuring to know that yes, something is "a thing" - a bona fide phenomenon others also experience, that it has been studied and examined and that it has a name.
The first guest in our new mini-series is Tom Stafford, who is professionally familiar with this particular "thing." He lectures in Psychology and Cognitive Science at the University of Sheffield, England.
