Daniel Romano has a reputation for being a musical shape-shifter. Punk, folk, rock, country. He's done (and mastered) them all. But despite his mercurial stylings, he's got a deeper — and deeply consistent — quest: to write first-rate songs. And his newest album, Modern Pressure, is his most mature testament to this quest yet.
Romano talks with q host Tom Power about the zigging, the zagging and the constant that runs through all of his music, and performs songs from the new album with his band.
