He inspired the art of Banksy, Basquiat, Warhol, Blek Le Rat and Keith Haring. So why do so few people know about Richard Hambleton? The elusive Canadian-born street artist died last October, and is only now getting the recognition he never enjoyed in life. Part of that is thanks to Oren Jacoby, a filmmaker who collided with Hambleton when they were both young creatives in New York City's art scene.
Tom Power talks to Jacoby about raising the profile of a creator who innovated through mischief, but rejected the business side of art.
