- Kaytranada's big win. The Polaris Music Prize goes to Montreal genre-blending producer Kaytranada.
- Secret Path brings Gord Downie back to the stage. The Tragically Hip frontman has announced that he will play two concerts to benefit his Secret Path project — new music and a graphic novel in memory of 12-year-old Ojibway boy Chanie Wenjack.
- Penguin joins Pooh. There's a new character in the Hundred Acre Wood — a penguin named Penguin has waddled onto the scene.
