Powerhouse literary agent and best-selling author Bill Clegg joins Shad to discuss his first novel, Did You Ever Have a Family, which was recently long-listed for the prestigious Man Booker Prize.
After some very public struggles — including a crack cocaine addiction and the collapse of his business — Clegg got sober and made a spirited comeback with two best-selling memoirs, Portrait of an Addict as a Young Man and Ninety Days.
Now he's back with his first foray into fiction, Did You Ever Have a Family, which meditates on themes of forgiveness, fragility and how family can be both a blessing and a burden.
