Up is a British documentary series that follows the lives of a group of people every seven years since they were seven years old. The participants are now 63 years old and the latest instalment, 63 Up, is out later this month.

Acclaimed director Michael Apted, best known for his films Gorillas in the Mist, Nell and The World Is Not Enough, joined q's Tom Power from Los Angeles to reflect on filming the same people for 56 years, how his relationship with the participants has changed, and what the latest film, 63 Up, reveals about aging and mortality.

You can find 63 Up in theatres in Toronto and Vancouver from Friday, Dec. 20 onward. It'll be in Ottawa on Friday, Jan. 10. Earlier episodes from the Up series are available on the streaming service Britbox.
