We all know what a Wes Anderson or Michael Bay movie looks like. The former is a pastel framed wonderland while the latter is an over-the-top spectacle complete with as many explosives as one can fit into a full-length feature. But what if those aesthetics were applied to something different — food tutorials.

YouTuber David Ma has posted short food tutorials shot in the style of famous directors like Anderson, Bay, Quentin Tarantino and Alfonso Cuaron. Each video, which has now taken in thousands of views, focuses on a specific food and specific tendencies these directors are known for.

In the Anderson take of a s'mores recipe, ingredients are presented neatly in pint wrappers and bows as instructions are given via typed-up or written-out notes perfectly framed. In the Tarantino version of spaghetti and meatballs, tomatoes are sliced like swords cutting heads off of people and meat is pounded with a vengeance.
