Now or Never

Five...four...three...two...one: Counting down to a life-changing moment

This week Now or Never is numbering the days with people counting down to big life-changing moments
Whether it's starting university, performing the biggest show of your life, or opening up for tourism....this week everyone is counting down to a major life event. (unknown/CBC)

We're all counting down to something these days: The end of the school year. A summer getaway. For this pandemic to finally be over.

With the world slowly opening back up, we can finally start making plans - and experience all the anticipation, excitement and uncertainty that comes with a looming date on our calendars.

Which is why on this episode of Now or Never, we're meeting people who have their own personal countdown timers ticking away. And in a few weeks, days or even minutes, those timers are going to hit zero on a life-changing moment....whether they're ready or not.

Calgary couple Cindé and Clemens Ade-Hoser are past their due date, and anxiously waiting to welcome their first child into the world.

Standup comedian Sterling Scott hasn't performed for a live audience in months, but the biggest performance of his life -- a television taping for Amazon Prime -- is just days away.

After years of fighting for sport climbing to be added to the Olympic games, rock climber Sean McColl is counting the days until his first ever Olympics.

Cindy and John Purtill opened a bed and breakfast in St. John's, Newfoundland just in time for the pandemic to shut down. Now, days until the province re-opens to tourism, the excitement is high.

On the day of her high school graduation, Armana Tewelde reflects on her journey from Eritrea to Canada as a refugee, and looks ahead to her first day of university.

And Manit Kaur Sandhu and Gavinder Singh Gill are counting down to the US-Canada border reopening, and finally being together for good.
