Sook-Yin Lee is off this week - but we've tapped one of our favourite storytellers to step behind the mic: Candy Palmater.
A lawyer-turned-standup comedian, she's the creator and star of her own national, award-winning TV series, The Candy Show, now in its fifth season. Candy is also an activist, actor, public speaker, and a proud Mi'kmaq woman.
This week, she's hosting an episode on something she knows a little something about: body art!
Candy has her own impressive ink (which our friends at Q detail here) - and is fascinated by the stories behind the tats, piercings, and body modifications that Canadians adorn their bodies with. Their stories will surprise you.
To give you a sense of Candy's storytelling prowess, here's one of our favourites from the DNTO archives. It's the tale of the first time that she realized that skin colour - whether tattooed or not - matters.
