Tonight, 80s hearthrob Corey Hart is giving what he's calling a farewell show to his fans. If he keeps to his word, as he insists he will, it will be his last ever. Fans from all over the world will descend on Montreal's Bell Centre for the one-night-only, sold-out performance. But tickets and a never-surrender attitude won't be enough to ensure that every die-Hart fan makes it to the show.
That's because the show was originally scheduled for Saturday at the Bell Centre in Montreal. But a week before the concert, Mr. Hart felt he had no choice but to change the date -- because of the prospect the Montreal Canadiens might return to the arena for Game Seven against the New York Rangers.
This morning, Mike Finnerty, host of CBC Radio's Daybreak Montreal, spoke with two fans. First, you'll hear Amy Jordan, who flew in from Nairobi, Kenya, specifically for the concert. And then Mike speaks with Penny Van Zile of Boston, Massachusetts, who -- despite her best efforts, and the best efforts of her idol -- is still in Boston.
