Episode Transcript

Part One

Ukraine: Opposition MP
A member of Ukraine's parliament tells us people across the country are showing up to help with the war effort however they can -- on the front lines, and online.

Ukraine: Indian students
An Indian medical school student in Kharkiv says his government is arranging evacuations from Hungary and Poland for its citizens -- but he's stuck in a bomb shelter that's nowhere near either border.

Ukraine: Bob Rae
We'll hear from Bob Rae, Canada's ambassador to the UN, about sanctions -- and from a German member of European Parliament who says it's time to expel Russia from the global SWIFT payment network.

Part Two

Ukraine: Lviv to Poland
A reporter who made the trek from Lviv to Poland alongside thousands of fleeing citizens tells us about the harrowing journey -- and the moment Ukraine's military started conscripting men at the border.

Ukraine: Afghan interpreter
An Afghan refugee who was supposed to be in Canada by now is instead trapped in Kyiv with his family. And for them, the situation on the ground is all too familiar.

Ukraine: EU sanctions
A German Member of European Parliament says his government, and the world, needs to step up and introduce sanctions that actually hurt the Russia Government, and Vladimir Putin specifically.

Part Three

Ukraine: Former MP
A former Ukrainian MP who is blacklisted by Moscow tells us why she left her home in Kyiv -- and why her fight against Russian aggression will continue.

Ukraine: Canadians
We hear from a Ukrainian-Canadian who says the diaspora in this country is rallying to help friends and family back home. And Ottawa needs to do the same.
